Self-awareness is the conscious knowledge of your own character, feelings, motives, and desires. It's the ability to observe and reflect on your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, and to understand how they align with your values and how they impact others.

There are two main types:

  1. Internal self-awareness – Understanding yourself: your values, passions, aspirations, reactions, strengths, weaknesses, and how these impact your actions.

  2. External self-awareness – Understanding how others view you: being aware of how your behavior affects others and how you're perceived in social and professional settings.
